SPARK OF PROMISE

Spark of Promise is a youth-led non-profit initiative dedicated to empowering incarcerated mothers and their children through meaningful activities aimed at building connection and confidence. By combining creative storytelling sessions and psychology-backed workshops, we address both immediate emotional needs and long-term resilience. Our work envisions a society where families affected by incarceration have equitable access to support and community acceptance.

OUR MISSIONS

Goal 1

Fostering Confidence in Children with Incarcerated Parents

Through storytelling sessions and creative workshops like New Year’s resolutions, we help children develop self-expression and hope. These activities are aimed at nurturing confidence and a sense of belonging during a time that can otherwise feel isolating. Currently we have established a formal partnership with the Department of Children and Youth’s Rayong Welfare Center.

Goal 2

Supporting Incarcerated Mothers for Re-entry & Post-Release

We support incarcerated mothers through monthly workshops grounded in psychological research, hosted in collaboration with licensed psychologists. These sessions focus on mental and emotional preparation for re-entry, covering topics such as identity, coping strategies, and rebuilding relationships. Through activities like art therapy and guided journaling, mothers are given tools to process their experiences and envision a healthier future.

Goal 3

Reducing Public Stigma Around Incarceration

To engage the wider community, we host presentations to address stereotypes and stigma surrounding incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. By sharing personal stories and lived experiences, we highlight their capacity for growth, contribution, and meaningful participation in society. These discussions encourage empathy, understanding, and more informed perspectives.
